Love Me or Leave Me Alone

…… because it pretty much sums up my relationship with H&M. I know it’s a bit repetitive as I’ve said it before on here and on various social media platforms, but the plus section in H&M consistently looks like a regurgitated dogs dinner. Despite this being my thought for over 12 years I keep going in there whenever I visit Intu Merry Hill and each time I see that pathetic looking collection of clothing in the dingy space under the escalators, I give it a quick once over, shake my head and tootle on over to Simply Be. Yep, H&M still aint sh…
Now it’s not that everything in the range is always terrible. Not everything and not always. As the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day- but don’t bother using it to check the time at any other point. You might on the off-chance find something decent amongst the doldrums, but the collection is so unloved that it takes sheer shopping determination/ desperation/ exasperation to bring yourself to look through the shadows of the uninviting rails. There are no show stoppers- or even show starters. In fact there are barely any opening credits to even let you know there’s anything going on that might be worthy of your attention. They had a space to fill under the escalators and they filled it with this. Buy it if you want to but we’re not fussed. I’d really prefer them to just pull the plug on the whole lot and leave a space there. Plonk down a couple of sofas, or a mini bar. Maybe a DJ, a crèche, a portaloo, or at the very least somewhere I can charge my phone. Cancel the entire collection. No one at H&M cares about it so they need to stop pretending they do. In the words of Brand Nubian- Love me, or leave me alone.
I totally agree! It’s just been getting worse with time. I second that: love me or leave me alone.
Absolutely!
