Once upon a time before the Etsy shop, I had a Big Cartel site from which I sold belts and clothing. I still have various items of stock from those days that I need to clear and I have started to list some on Ebay. Like these dresses…
and this one too..
I have several of the dresses in the first photo left in sizes 18- 30 but the check dress is only available in size 18 as it was a sample. I have a few other things that I will list over coming weeks so keep an eye on my Ebay page as you could bag yourself a bargain!
Three outfit posts in one week? I must be ill.
This outfit owes its existence to the inimitable Bethany from Arched Eyebrow. I saw her posts featuring this Asos dress some weeks ago and fell for the frock instantly. It doesn’t look like much on the Asos site but Bethany’s inspired styling and cool deameanour gave it an edge that I couldn’t ignore and I ended up buying it.
So here I am wearing the same dress to church this week
I’ve styled it with my “go to” church bag which I bought from Radley last year, my new Simply Be shoes and my faithful M&S cardi which I have in several colours. I figured those magnificent sleeves needed to be shown off so I’ve scrunched the sleeves up to show the floral puff shape in all its ladylike glory.
Outfit success though I think next time I’ll team the dress with a brighter bag to really pick up on the intensee floral print. I’m off to trawl the fatosphere again to see who else’s look I can copy next week….
The official birthday portrait. I’m at work but hey ho, gotta keep those bills paid. Grateful for life and health. Happy birthday to me.

I officially retract what I said in my last post about not liking the bubble hem. I’ve tried it and I’m sold. And it has pockets.
Can I just blow my own trumpet for a moment? I do absolutely love my new Beloved Endeavour velveteen skirt. I’ve worn it twice in the past week and each time I’ve worn it I’ve paired it with a shirt from Yours (the white one is here, and the print one is here) and a bit of ribbon from the haberdashery department at House Of Fraser.
Yours is steadily going up in my estimation (although they do slide down again every time I see a butterfly motif top in store). I used to really dislike its dark stores that were inundated with black clothes (and there still is masses of black) but the Bullring store is much brighter and more welcoming than the Merry Hill one so I tend to go in more. The quality is still hit and miss but I like that they have a huge selection of items for various occasions. Evans pips them to the post because the quality is better, I love the designer collaborations and I prefer the whole “feel” of Evans stores.
The second outfit is my favourite as I think the white shirt might look a bit too waitressy with the bow. I was told I looked like the KFC colonel by someone who has about as much style as an old paper bag, but I enjoyed wearing it anyhow. The jacket is about 5 years old from New Look with my trusted DM boots which were perfect for stomping around London (I was at the Textile Forum Fabric Show)
PS- I could easily have cropped the bending over woman from the image but I find her quite amusing so she stays.
